Davenport House is a small hotel and can be found in an area of Edinburgh City Centre known as the New Town. The Neoclassical New Town
was built between 1776-1840 and in 1995 was designated as a world heritage site
by Unesco.
The property was bought new in 1820 as a family home for a
wealthy merchant and the building retains many of the period features of the
Georgian era.
The hotel stands in Great King Street - One of Edinburgh's
cobbled streets - and is within walking distance of many places of historical
interest.
The hotel was opened in 1997 after extensive renovations and was partly refurbished in June 2005 with the second phase being completed in January 2006. to provide quality accomodation for both
